It is six months since IR35 reforms came in for the private sector. It is estimated that more than half of medium size businesses have no process for assessing contractors employment status. Contractors will pay more tax next year as HMRC announced a 1.25% tax dividend increase and a further 1.25% NI increase. HMRC is checking payroll and PAYE compliance.

Neurodiversity was once considered to be a limitation in the workplace. Things are changing especially when considering the importance of the many talents, different ways of thinking and perspective that neurodivergent individuals can bring to your team. It would seem that great minds do not infact think alike. Television programmes like the good doctor are helping to highlight the talent available from a diverse and accessible section of society which has previously been overlooked.

One million UK vacancies equals a candidate driven market. Employers have to compete for talent. Its not just about pay & bonus as candidates are equally interested in perks & benefits.

Post furlough many businesses are welcoming back furloughed staff but others have indicated business is not yet returned to profit or pre- pandemic levels. Employers can consider other options such as redeployment, sabbaticals, and secondments to ease back in.
